Protecting your home during the cold and warm months doesn’t need to be difficult.  There are things that you can do, but there are some things you will want to hire a professional HVAC company to complete.

During the cold months:

• Clear snow and ice from outside pipes
• Clean debris out of gutters that may cause them to back up with water, ice or snow
• Prevent pipes from freezing (disconnect hoses, turn off exterior faucets, turn off and blow out sprinkler systems, insulate exposed pipes, thaw frozen pipes with a hair dryer or warm water to avoid bursts)
• Change furnace filters regularly
• Have the system inspected annually
• Regulate your thermostat

During warm months:

• Close curtains and windows to reduce sunlight or hot air from entering the home
• Have your Air Conditioning System inspected by an HVAC company
• Change air filters regularly
