What is a boiler?
Boilers are hydronic heating systems, meaning they use water to transfer heat throughout your home. First, water is heated and then circulated through pipes to the radiators in each room. The hot water or steam passes through the radiator to release heat into the different rooms. This provides comfortable heat and a consistent temperature across your home. Boiler systems can also be used for in-floor heating or in driveways to melt snow during the wintertime. We still have plenty of boiler systems in our area, and they are a great way to stay comfortable. The only downside is that the boiler piping does not allow for air conditioning like a furnace with ductwork. Fear not, see our ductless split page for a great option to air condition your home with a boiler system.
