What is a ductless split?
A ductless split system is a type of heat pump that, you guessed it, does not require any ductwork. This type of system consists of an outdoor unit which is connected to the indoor head(s) by refrigeration lines and electrical wiring. These indoor heads deliver heated or cooled air directly into the space where the head is placed. Ductless split systems can be single or multiple zones. The single-zone system has a singular head placed inside that is controlled by a remote. Multi-zone systems consist of multiple different indoor heads connecting to the same outdoor unit, and each indoor unit will have its own remote control. Single-zone systems are great for bringing comfort to one specific area, like a four-season porch, basement, garage, or problem area. Multi-zone systems are perfect for bringing comfort to multiple areas and up to your entire home!
